      Man I’m so old I remember getting downvoted here for pointing out the drip-feed of weekly cases just before French and German elections was consistent with the *modus operandi* of the 3 letter agencies from the Cold War.

      At some point it stops being ‘disinformation campaigns’ and starts looking like an entire parallel political infrastructure being run across Europe just to keep everyone arguing about the wrong things.

      If the KGB stops operating at some point, it will be very interesting to see how many shady newspapers, social media accounts etc. suddenly stop working or run out of funding.

      I feel like in years to come, it will come out that Russia is/was behind most of the extreme right wing movements in various countries for the last 15/20 years. Things like Brexit and the destabilization of the US are all objectives that were outlined by Russia decades ago and russian money has been flowing into groups that encourage division and xenophobia for just as long.

      The problem is that the people backed by this money are now in power so can hide it. That and the media decide what people see these days so if they don’t want you to see it, then if fades.

      Russian influence wouldn’t be so damaging if it wasn’t allowed to by states.

      Multiple pro Russian parties are in power or on their way to power.
