Dublin secured a famous SHC win over Kilkenny in Parnell Park today, knocking the Cats out of the All-Ireland championship.
The Dubs hadn’t defeated Kilkenny in the provincial championship since 2013, when they last won the title.
It’s Dublin’s first ever win over Kilkenny in the Championship at Parnell Park and their first time to defeat the holders at a Dublin venue since the early 1940s.

Donal Burke was in flying form for the Dubs, scoring 1-11, though it was a collective effort on the day to secure a monumental win.
John Hetherton, Brian and Ronan Hayes, along with Conal Ó Riain, all starred in an attacking sense for the 2025 All-Ireland semi-finalists.
Dublin took the lead in the 19th minute, and Kilkenny trailed from then until the full-time whistle. They were outscored by 0-09 to 0-04 in the second quarter, and Dublin took a deserved 0-15 to 0-11 halftime lead.

Kilkenny came out from the break firing, scoring three straight points to bring themselves back into the game. However, Dublin kept answering back, and when they caught fire again, they put seven points between themselves and their opponents
Ronan Hayes put the Cherry on top for the Dubs in the dying moments, when he claimed the ball out of a ruck of players and volleyed over, punching the air in delight, securing a 1-26 to 0-22 win.
It’s the first time since 2017 that the Cats haven’t qualified for the Leinster Final, but they’d never previously failed to get out of the provincial group. Up next for Dublin is a provincial final against Galway next weekend at Croke Park.
