Enjoy the warmth while you can at the start of the week, as Danish weather agency DMI has warned that things will get cooler as we head towards the weekend.

Jesper Eriksen, DMI’s on-duty meteorologist, told the Ritzau news wire that the summer temperatures are set to continue on Tuesday, with the mercury hitting around 15-23C.

Eriksen warned that there will be some cloudy periods on Tuesday, with rain and even some thunder in areas, but that this will affect “far from the whole country”.

“And between the clouds there will be sunshine,” he added.

On Wednesday, temperatures will drop to 13-18C, as cold wind from the northwest blows through, with more or less the same temperature on Thursday.

Despite this, he said, it is still likely to be sunny.

“It will be a bit on the cold side, because there will be some wind, and in some places this will knock ten degrees off the temperature.”

Eriksen said that it’s still hard to tell what the weather will be like at the end of the week, but he did say that it’s a good idea to put some sun cream on this week.

“Even if it’s a bit cold, the UV-index is still high, and it could reach 6 around lunchtime and into the afternoon ‒ whether it’s 15 or 23C. So you still need to watch out for the sun,” he said.
