Obviously great news but nowhere in the article does it mention amount of vapers.

    2. Snus is probably the least harmful method of tobacco consumption. The overall associated costs of more snus use likely doesn’t mean that much when compared to costs saved from less smoking.

Edit: just some literature that might help. Put it on a post below but then the dude asking deleted his comment…lol.

I can offer such, kinda busy but this should be a good intro. Idk why I get downvoted, just relating the science.

In the spirit of harm reduction. Lmk if I can help further.

    3. But it’s still legal to smoke in sweden, and even in the article it says 5% of swedes smoke. Then 10% of young people are vaping and 20% of people are using snus. So really haven’t become smoke free and nicotine addiction is getting worse

I traveled to Sweden a couple years ago and this seems hard to believe 😂

    5. Hmmm… I’ve been here 5 days and, thinking about it, I’ve only seen one person smoke.

Unlike back home in Ireland where I would see it everywhere.

      > Sweden has reached its target of fewer than five percent of the population smoking regularly – and is consequently considered “smoke-free”.

    7. because they put itbin their mouth and it is sinilarly disgusting

      source: used to live there

If you replaced this with ‘nicotine use’ then we’re one of the highest in the world.

No one in Sweden likes the old herb then? lol seriously good for you Sweden.

their banning and taxing it, what do you think is going to happen. it goes underground, becomes taboo, making it 2x to 4x more enjoyable.

    11. CounterCrusader111 on

      Very very good decision.

Smoking and Snus are nowhere near the same thing, the body isnt meant to inhale hot smoke.

The Swedes specifically have a different process then everyone else.

Snus is Heated, Pasteurized and Powdered while being absorbed through a slightly filtered teabag medium, and is treated as a food product, with food grade standards.

Except going full herbal or implementing wood/charcoal, thats about as safe as it gets.

On top of that you can still spit if you want too.

Old-school loose chewing tobacco is not nearly as safe and has a much longer proven history of being unhealthy, and also requires a cancer warning.

Gonna point out that Snus is one of few tobacco products that doesn’t require a cancer warning due to research.

    12. Sweden proving you don’t need to ban nicotine to go smoke-free. Snus for the win!

Every other people use mouth tobacco and where I live in small town, there are still lots of people smoking. This is same bullshit saying that Finnland is most happy country in the world. It is not! 🙃

    14. Scary_Spinach4924 on

So they care about smoke instead of rampant immigration? Amazing logic

    15. Less than 5% of the population smokes, yet cigarette butts are *(by far)* the most common form of litter.

      That really does say something.

    16. Was reading this news while having a smoke this morning. Ofc conveniently left out is that almost 20% of the country is on snus (snuff) and another some % vaping.

    17. DeliciousIncident on

Wouldn’t that be Finland? The only smoke they has was coming from their saunas, and I heard they have finnish saunas.
