Even if Burnham wins, Labour will continue losing valuable activists within the party when they realise that he is just another empty suit Starmer with a northern accent.

      > Associated with Labour Friends of Israel, so won’t do anything to end our complicity in genocide

      > Has backed off his previous pro-trans stance to support segregation that will endanger all women

      > Has not indicated that he will do anything useful to end austerity economics and redistribute the wealth

      > Backing away from his previous support of nationalising water

What he did with public transport in Manchester was admirable and should be replicated across the country, of course.

Other than that though, he has no vision and no principles. Which is exactly why he was chosen and accepted as the “continuity candidate” by Labour and the press.

    2. I find so many of the Labour backbenchers (on left and right) to be little more than petulant opportunists.

So the entire country goes populist left (idiots) or populist right (idiots) sigh

Starmer, when he started purging left-wing members of the Party: “If you don’t like it, just leave.”

Also Starmer barely a few years later: “FUCK NO, PLEASE DON’T LEAVE.”

    5. I think this is more unlikely given that Green party support is now stagnant or trending downwards:

And Polanski is now one of the more unpopular leaders, that’s probably reflecting public responses to his interventions over the police reactions to the Golders Green stabbing, the council tax avoidance, and the other walter mitty type revelations about his cv.

We now have five main parties in England and only the Greens havent given tacit support for a Republican-style view of trans people

Pretty great that between Labour & Greens constant infighting all they’re doing is looking incompetent whilst Reform sits quietly in the corner.

Fucking politicians man, wish they’d get it together.

Good. Fuck the disruptive idiots off to the Greens and let the grown ups get on with running the country.

It’s not like I have any strong beliefs on what this country needs. I just want my seat in parliament. Tell me which party you like, and I’ll join that one.

The Labour party seems to be comprised entirely of people who never grew out of their grade school cliques.

Defection is the right word because they’re definitely full of shit

    12. Lady-Spangles on

They’ve been saying this for months now. There have been no PLP defections to the Greens.

      Sounds like win-win…

Chamaeleon-like chancer and multiple-time loser out of the leadership picture, and Labour can shake off the fleas that are doing their best to make it unelectable.

      Where do I sign?

    14. Unlikely. The Greens are even more of a runaway clown show than Labour was under Corbyn. They can’t even find 1 candidate who doesn’t have a hideous social media history.

This is just mischief making from the poxy Telegraph

Why does torygraph rage bait keep getting posted here. Isn’t anyone the least bit interested that it’s the torygraph that happens to be pushing this?

    16. I think the Greens would be wise to not campaign for Makerfield and instead push for the incumbent Greater Manchester mayor election if Burnham does win.

Restore is splitting the right-wing vote.

    17. Dull_World4255 on

You can bet that those Labour MP’s who defect, won’t receive anywhere near as much criticism as this Tory MP’s who have defected to Reform.

The reason for this is because, whilst I believe the Tory MP’s who have joined Reform are no doubt just looking out for themselves, the same will true of those Labour MP’s who jump on the Green bandwagon. But they can get away with doing so, because they’ll adopt the same tactic as pretty much anyone on the left and that is to hide their agenda and motivation behind a veil of self-righteousness and the default moral rhetoric that they don’t truly believe in.

    18. Didn’t Starmer let him run there because he knows he will lose and be removed as another threat to his leadership of the Labour party?

    19. stormtreader1 on

They should really think hard about why they have lost so much support by choosing to move so far away from their left roots. They only want to try and cater to right wing ideas and votes? Then they should have to spar with the other right wing parties for those voters – they chose this, over and over.

    20. Hellstorm901 on

I think Labour waited too long to bring in Burnham, I honestly don’t think he’s going to win this and what previously would have been a good decision to bring in Burnham when he wanted to run originally now looks like an act of desperation by the man who blocked him the first time

Reform have said they’re going to throw everything at this election, the Tories will tactical vote purely to screw over Labour and honesty I wouldn’t be surprised if the Greens wanted people to vote Reform just to make Labours plan fail and then push Labour voters to the Greens
