With the Government moving ahead on banning imports from Israeli settlements, I’m wondering how this will actually work in practice.
Even if the intention is clear, how can these rules be subverted or sidestepped in the real world?
Don’t they have real work to do, such as fighting the housing crisis?
This title doesn’t make any sense! Will we be banning imports from Gaza and Ukraine so (the actual occupied territories)?!
What I’ve often worried with this action is if Ireland acts alone, would Israel look for an economic fight with us? Would they move the production of certain items which the multinationals based here rely upon into an occupied territory, knowing that we may have to ban it? How would the MNCs react to such ban?
They are actually considering how to do nothing about it
If importing procucts from the occupied territories is so bad, then surely importing good from the actual occupier is equally as bad. Ban all Israeli goods.
Isn’t Northern Ireland an occupied territory?
They should be considering a complete ban on all trade with Israel .Full Stop. A complete economic social and cultural embargo , nothing less
No more business with the North so
