Two ways possible

“This vicious circle needs to be broken. If we don’t do it, it is foreseen that the price level in this country will continue to rise. Þórður Snær says that we will not find out unless we say yes in the referendum at the end of August and restart negotiations on such an entry. He quotes the words of Marta Kos, EU enlargement director in an interview with Politico yesterday, that negotiations on membership with Iceland could proceed quickly and that the country would be a “special case.”

“The reason is that Iceland is already adapted to the European internal market through the EEA agreement, is already a member of Schengen, is an advanced democracy and has values ​​that are in line with what is considered desirable in Europe.

The agreement that comes out of those talks will never come into force unless we, the Icelandic people, approve it in another vote if we believe it achieves the goals that each of us wants to achieve from it. No one needs to be afraid of this process.”
