Rain is expected nationwide Wednesday, with strong winds and heavy rainfall forecast for Jeju Island and areas along the southern coast.
Up to 150 millimeters of rain is forecast for the mountainous areas of Jeju, while South Jeolla and South Gyeongsang provinces will receive 30 to 80 millimeters.
Some areas along the southern coast and near Mount Jiri could see more than 100 millimeters.
Most other parts of the country, including Seoul, are expected to receive between ten and 60 millimeters of rainfall.
Between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, Jeju, southern coastal areas and regions near Mount Jiri are expected to see heavy downpours of up to 50 millimeters per hour, prompting the weather authorities to urge caution.
The rain is expected to stop in most parts of the country by Wednesday afternoon, although it may continue into the late afternoon in South Jeolla Province and the Gyeongsang provinces, as well as on Jeju.
Wednesday morning lows will range between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, while afternoon highs will reach 19 to 28 degrees, three to seven degrees lower than Tuesday’s.
In Seoul, temperatures will fall to 20 degrees in the morning before rising to 23 degrees in the afternoon.
