Hey everyone, I need some urgent advice from anyone who has navigated the new German visa process in India recently.

    My Situation:

Visa Category: EU Blue Card (Software Engineer, salary €80k+)

    Destination City: Berlin, Germany

Location of Appointment: VFS Bengaluru, India

Current Status: I have a confirmed, physical appointment slot at VFS Bengaluru this Friday, May 29th.

    The Core Issue:

Following the official guidelines, I went onto the new Consular Service Portal (CSP) today to digitize my application and upload my documents before Friday.

However, right when I tried to submit, the system blocked me and threw up a major warning box stating: "The German mission is at full capacity. No new applications are being accepted at the moment. Waiting time approx. 2-8 weeks." It has automatically placed my application on a digital "waiting list" status.

    My Questions:

Since I already have a highly competitive physical appointment slot secured at VFS for this Friday, May 29th, will VFS turn me away at the counter because my passport number is linked to a "pending/waitlisted" digital CSP application?

Can I completely bypass this portal capacity issue by printing out a traditional, hard-copy National Visa (Videx) application form, filling it out by hand, and handing over the standard 2 physical paper sets at the counter?

I have my entire physical folder perfectly organized, unstapled, and matching the official embassy checklist to a T (including my signed contract, degree recognitions, German public health insurance confirmation from TK, and incoming travel insurance).

I’ve already emailed the Bangalore Consulate directly, but given that my appointment is in less than 72 hours, I’m stressing out. Has anyone successfully walked into VFS with a paper backup after being waitlisted by the online portal?

Any insight would be an absolute lifesaver. Thanks in advance!

As far as I understand, you need a green signal from CSP portal first to book the appointment, i had to wait to get approval on my CSP application, then only I could make the appointment, depending upon the centre it might take weeks-months.

      All the best!
