SPAR UK and Iceland Foods have announced a new convenience retail partnership, which will see 320 SPAR stores across the UK offering Iceland Foods’ products.
The partnership also has the potential to expand the availability of its frozen food range to nearly 2,000 SPAR stores in the coming months, according to the partners.
With the expanded frozen food section, SPAR aims to drive footfall, highlighting the combination of its community store network with Iceland’s frozen food expertise.

Through the partnership with UK supermarket chain Iceland Foods, SPAR stores will offer branded products from Slimming World, Harry Ramsden’s, TGI Friday’s, Gregg’s and Myprotein.
In addition, stores will also feature Iceland Foods’ own-brand products.
Justin Addison, director of Iceland International and UK Partnerships at Iceland Foods, said, “This expansion is a key part of our mission to make Iceland products more accessible to customers wherever they shop.”

The partnership is also supported by UK wholesalers and distributors CJ Lang & Son Ltd, James Hall & Co. Ltd and A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd.
Addison commented, “Partnering with CJ Lang, James Hall, and A. F. Blakemore to expand the offering of Iceland’s frozen food range in SPAR stores across the UK allows us to bring our value and quality to local communities in a way that’s fast, flexible and customer focused.”
CJ Antal-Smith, CCO at A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd, said, “We know shoppers want quality, value and convenience without compromise, and this partnership delivers exactly that.”
Andrew Hall, chairman and CEO at James Hall & Co. Ltd, noted that customer feedback has been promising and added, “We also invited Iceland to our recent SPAR Forward trade show to open the offer to our SPAR independent retailers.
“There was huge enthusiasm in the room for the brand, and we anticipate a strong take up of Iceland’s offer with independents which will accelerate availability in our SPAR North of England region.”
