Can’t be excluded that this was a deliberate act of the driver.
Before we lynch the bus driver online, so far we don’t know why he went through. It could be that he was an idiot who crossed it because he thought he could make it. Or it could be the bus had a malfunction or it could be that he became unwell or whatever.
We don’t know and until we do, we shouldn’t do the trial-by-internet thing.
Why on earth would you try to cross when the barriers have gone down?
You will not lose any meaningful amount of time by waiting for the train to pass. Like maximum 2 minutes, probably less.
I don’t get it.
I blame Mordor agents until facts say otherwise.

I really hope the bus driver had become incapacitated, or the bus had malfunctioned – because if not, that’s genuinely a fucking awful thing to do.
I’m not entirely sure, but the barrier on the Google maps footage looks a little too short to be a full barrier. And there is a tight left turn right before the crossing. This could be a classic left turn into half barrier kinda situation, which is just bad crossing design.
Are there blinking lights facing the side street that the bus driver should have seen before making a left turn? Yes. Do these types of accidents happen if you invest into full barriers? No.
Good road design reduces the impact of human error
Train crashes shouldn’t happen in 2026, and it shouldn’t be possible for a vehicle and a train to crash into each other in 2026. I don’t understand people accepting this is as unavoidable.
