Russell showed signs of successful season all the way back in February. At the David Miller Memorial, the second tournament of the season for the Jaguars, Russell finished 3-over-par. He continued to show scores of a similar range throughout the season including a 2-over-par and a third overall finish in the Shelby County tournament.
Russell is not the only Jaguar to receive their flowers as Head Coach Keat Litton was named as an all-star coach for both boys’ and girls’ golf. This title is not new to Litton as he has shared it the honor every year since 2021.
Litton began coaching at Spain Park since 2016. In that time, the Jaguars golf program saw multiple state championships tournaments and took home the title in 2024. For 2026, the girls’ golf team placed fifth place in sectionals while the boys placed 4th in the state championship.
