VIC Properties unveils Six Senses Residences Comporta to the market, a collection of 58 exclusive residences, the brand’s first in Portugal. The start of sales coincides with the laying of the foundation stone for Six Senses Comporta, which will also include a 70-room hotel and numerous other amenities. The result of a partnership between VIC Properties and the renowned hotel chain, Six Senses Comporta will bring a touch of the very highest quality and international recognition to Pinheirinho Comporta, as well as to the entire region.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Pinheirinho Comporta, the Six Senses Residences combine, through sustainable design, a tribute to the natural heritage of the Comporta region and the local traditions of the Alentejo, whilst offering the exceptionally high standards of sophistication and comfort that are synonymous with Six Senses projects worldwide.
Six Senses Comporta also marks Michaelis Boyd’s debut in Portugal. Internationally renowned for projects linked to Soho House, notably Soho Farmhouse, amongst many others, the award-winning British architectural firm is thus undertaking its first project on Portuguese soil, bringing an innovative vision rooted in a celebration of Comporta’s traditions.
“We are immensely proud to have a brand such as Six Senses on board at Pinheirinho Comporta; this partnership will set a new standard for sustainable luxury hospitality and integrated wellness across Europe, enhancing Portugal’s—and Comporta’s in particular—global standing as a tourist and residential destination,” says João Cabaça, co-founder and CEO of VIC Properties.
“Six Senses and Comporta are a perfect match. When we consider the principles that each stands for – sustainability, respect for the community, wellness, nature – this partnership feels natural and highly enriching,” adds João Cabaça.
Pinheirinho Comporta, covering more than 400 hectares and home to Six Senses Comporta, offers an integrated range of services that emphasise quality, diversity and a connection to the local area. The development features restaurants, shops, sports and outdoor activities, as well as experiences designed for families and initiatives that encourage contact with nature. Among its key features are an 18-hole golf course, designed by the renowned Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva, and access to the beach.
Three styles of branded residences
Designed in line with the Six Senses philosophy – where wellbeing, sustainability and daily rituals shape the living experience – the 58 branded residences, ranging from two to five bedrooms, have been developed to blend in perfectly with the surrounding natural environment.
The Six Senses Residences Comporta are divided into three styles: Sand, featuring villas in shades inspired by nature; Forest, combining apartments and villas in deeper, more natural tones; and Lake, with villas offering panoramic views of the lake and featuring shades of aqua green. With a design that blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, all villas and apartments benefit from natural light, with sunny nooks and patios that define the experience of living in harmony with nature.
With floor areas ranging from 210 m² to 1,400 m², the properties feature spacious terraces with excellent sun exposure, incorporating outdoor kitchens, dining areas and heated swimming pools. In keeping with the Six Senses lifestyle, some villas feature private herb gardens. Residents will also be able to enjoy private cinemas, games rooms and spas, in an environment designed to promote well-being, comfort and serenity.
The materials used are locally sourced, including pine wood, cork, terracotta plaster and reclaimed sand. In line with the sustainable approach, all homes will be powered by solar energy and thermally regulated through passive cooling systems. The Six Senses Residences Comporta also feature a package comprising carefully selected furniture, fittings and finishes, ensuring a design in keeping with the Six Senses style.
The Six Senses Lifestyle
When purchasing a property at Six Senses Comporta, residents become part of a wellness ecosystem designed to promote a fulfilling life, with access to a comprehensive range of amenities that reflect the everyday Six Senses experience. The spa – set in a private garden and comprising three buildings inspired by the surrounding dunes – features thermal areas, hydrotherapy pools, the brand’s iconic Alchemy Bar and a programme dedicated to longevity. The organic vegetable garden supplies both the spa and the restaurant, in keeping with the Eat With Six Senses philosophy: natural, local and where less is more.
To get around the estate, residents will be able to use the Path of Life, the route that connects the homes to the main areas of the development. Along this route, residents will have access to a jetty by the lake, an open-air cinema and the sound dome.
Residents’ involvement in sustainability and innovation initiatives is encouraged through the Six Senses Earth Lab, whilst the Grow With Six Senses programme is aimed at younger guests, with activities inspired by the six dimensions of well-being.
