“He arrived as a challenger and leaves as a champion. Thank you, Jesus, for everything you gave to your club, Al Nassr. You will always be loved and fondly remembered by Al Nassr fans,” says the social media of the Riyadh team.
Jorge Jesus had already announced that he would leave the club on 21 May, shortly after winning the title, without specifying his next step.
“It’s true that I will not continue in Saudi Arabia,” Jorge Jesus stated in an interview with SportTV at the end of the match that secured Al-Nassr’s title, revealing that the decision had been planned since the beginning of the project.
Jesus, who won his 24th career title, explained that he refused to sign a contract for more than one season when approached by the Saudi club, as the physical and emotional strain accumulated throughout the season weighed heavily on his decision to leave.
