WWE fans in Europe are always amped up for TV tapings, and tonight (May 29) was no different when Jade Cargill kicked off SmackDown to thunderous boos in Barcelona, Spain. Moments later, the ovation for WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley blew the roof off the place, figuratively speaking.
After they went back and forth on the mic hyping up their title match on Sunday at Clash In Italy, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss came out to even the odds with Jade and her Baddies. Cargill insulted Bliss by calling her a “little girl” and Flair’s ragdoll. The fans in Spain then erupted for Bliss, who proceeded to trash Cargill’s wrestling and promo skills.
“Hey Jade, word of advice…I like to give the people that go against me the courtesy of a warning, so this is your one warning. I’ve gone toe-to-toe with people on the mic and in this ring, people that are way better than you. So do not make me embarrass you before your career is even started.”
GM Nick Aldis interrupted to set up an immediate singles bout between Cargill and Bliss. Jade is the one challenging for championship gold at Sunday’s PLE, so you knew she was going over. She did so after a brawl between all the other women at ringside, and then countering Alexa’s Twisted Bliss by getting her knees up. Cargill picked up the victory with a pump kick and her Jaded finisher.
She then paid back Alexa back for the harsh trash talk by giving her another Jaded, this time on a steel chair.
Do you think reverse momentum theory means Cargill is now even more likely to lose her championship rematch against Ripley at Clash In Italy? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
