SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) – Firefighters are battling a large fire at an auto parts business in Southington on Saturday morning.
Crews were called to Chuck and Eddie’s Used Auto Parts located on Old Turnpike Road at 9:12 a.m. after a report of a working fire, according to Battalion Chief Christian Mastrianni.
Fire officials said they believe the incident is a gasoline pit fire.
Mutual aid from Meriden and Bristol are on scene assisting Southington firefighters and to cover the town.
A regional foam trailer has been requested along with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).
No further details were released.
