Romania is not named after a city, but after the Roman Empire.

Venice was, the last time I checked, not yet the capital of Venezuela.

I don’t understand. What does any of this mean? The grey ones are the ones named after their own capital?
Also Benin is named after Bay of Benin which is in turn named after Benin City in Nigeria, and Venezuela is ‘Little Venice’.
The map is missing Liechtenstein.
Could we include Russia? Isn’t it named after Kievan Rus (Kyiv)?
