Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held a phone call on Saturday with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon.

During the phone talks, Abdel-Aati stressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Lebanon in facing current challenges, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf said.

He also underlined Egypt’s firm position calling for Israel’s complete withdrawal from all Lebanese territories.

Any violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty or territorial integrity is a clear breach of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701, Abdel-Aati said.

The Egyptian top diplomat also emphasised the importance of supporting Lebanese state institutions, especially the Lebanese Armed Forces, to enable them to exercise authority across the entire country.

He highlighted the need for weapons to remain exclusively under the control of the Lebanese state, describing this as the cornerstone of Lebanon’s security and stability, and a safeguard for the Lebanese people’s future.
