Belarus has become a key player in supporting the Russian military machine in its war against Ukraine. According to sources, Belarusian enterprises produce components for the Russian military-industrial complex, while Minsk provides Russia with infrastructural and military support.

This is reported by the Associated Press .

According to the agency, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Belarusian enterprises have been producing electronics, sights, artillery shells, and heavy trucks for transporting ballistic missiles for the Russian military-industrial complex.

The Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy of Ukraine, Vladyslav Vlasyuk, stated that Belarusian microchips were found in fragments of the Oreshnik missile, which was recently used against Ukraine.

According to the BYPOL organization, which includes former Belarusian military and security forces, Belarusian industry has been integrated into the Russian military system. It is reported that more than 500 enterprises are engaged in the production of weapons and ammunition, repair of equipment and logistics.

“Lukashenko’s regime is quite seriously involved in the war. Lukashenko is helping Russia in every possible way,” said BYPOL head Volodymyr Zhygar.

In addition to production support, Belarus provides Russia with training grounds, conducts joint exercises with the Russian military, and provides treatment for Russian soldiers in Belarusian military hospitals.

Zhigar also reported that a large training ground with barracks is being built in the Gomel region, which borders Ukraine, to house a significant military contingent. In his opinion, Minsk has effectively lost its military sovereignty.

“As soon as Moscow considers it necessary for its strategy, it will naturally use Belarus as a launching pad for a new invasion of Ukraine or some kind of armed conflict with NATO countries,” he stressed.

At the same time, the agency notes that the size of the Armed Forces of Belarus is 48,600 servicemen, which is significantly smaller than the size of the Russian army.

Belarusian journalist and analyst Alexander Alesin said that in the event of war, Minsk could mobilize 290,000 people, but their training would take a long time. According to him, such mobilization would also negatively affect the country’s economy.

“The Belarusian army is unsuitable for offensive operations. An attack from Belarus would require the mobilization of up to 500,000 troops. Even with small forces, the Ukrainians could easily inflict devastating losses on the Belarusian army. The last thing Lukashenko wants is to fight, and he will cling to his current position at all costs to avoid this, while reaping generous profits from the war,” the analyst explained.

It was previously reported that Ukraine is currently not recording a concentration of troops near the border with Belarus, but the threat from this direction remains.

Recall that Russia is considering several scenarios for new offensive operations in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction, which may begin no earlier than the fall of 2026. To this end, the Kremlin, according to sources, is planning a new wave of mobilization of 100,000 people.
