    1. Scale none-some-a lot and a skull for what’s too large for the scale? You forgot a “deadass” in there, OP.

Imo the colour scale should be 3 colours instead of just green/red. Near 0% isn’t really great and shouldn’t be marked with a dark green colour. Make 1.5 – 2.5 dark green and anything below 1.5 maybe blue or purple.

I cant wrap my head around the fact that we have more than three times inflation rate than Ukraine, a country in war for years and fighting for its sovereignity. And the worst part is, that number is a lie and its way more higher than 29,8%.

    4. Inflation is a reality for Turkish economy since Ottomans. There are times it was stable, but those are exceptions based on foreign investment accumulation. And interestingly Turkish economy somehow stands these rates and go on. But in the meantime people get poorer and poorer.

      It goes like this:

      Devaluation -> cheaper production -> cash flow -> wealth -> inflation -> devaluation ->…

Whether inflation is “too much” or not highly depends upon volume of debt.

    6. UK inflation may be modest but price gouging from private companies is through the roof. Don’t be misled into thinking UK is affordable! We have some of the highest energy prices in Europe. Our supermarkets, also, have increased their average prices by 25% in the last 3 years, whereas inflation has only increased by 6% for the same period. Much of our welfare state has also been plundered in pursuit of balancing national debt, so it is a sandbox for these private companies.

Is there any reason for Norway and Belarus don’t have an inflation data , especially Belarus

Hi citizen from Turkey here. Firstly Those are rookie numbers. We have them monthly. Secondly we don’t get inflation less than 50%.last 4-5 years. Numbers they check is bullshit.

    9. The reason Sweden is so low is probably because lower taxes on food and gasoline/diesel recently

    10. That legend is doing a lot of heavy lifting for a map that just has numbers on it.

    11. All right so Ukraine is in (war with Russia) 8.6% unexpectedly low

Turkey’s inflation is incorrect. It’s 32.3 for the time being.

Turkey’s folks continue to pay a high price for electing religious goons for 25 years nonstop.

Things will go from bad to worse and from worse to terrible…

Croatia had virtually no inflation for 10+ years leading up to Covid, and it has basically exploded in the last 5 years. It feels like a small lifetime of consistently high YoY inflation at this point, we’ve gotten so used to it that I can’t even remember how it feels to have the inflation level of Sweden for example.

You know things are messed up when you search for a restaurant on Google and see pictures of menus from like 6 months ago but they’re already outdated, because they went up 10% in the meantime.

Obviously it’s not as bad as Turkey for example, but it’s still unreal for me when I visit countries like France or Germany and think to myself that prices in restaurants and shops are quite reasonable, despite the still huge gap in earning power between my country and them.

Low rates of inflation is also not good for well developed countries. In that sense I think the coloring of the map a bit of misleading. ECB’s inflation targets should taken as a reference.

    17. 2.9 here in Germany being color green when most people won’t reach up to, or above, that increase on their salary is pretty sad.

    18. The Bulgarian inflation is much more, this year it’s been ~20%. The official statistics are always screwed.

    19. I’m always amazed at how inflation is at 3% yet my grocery and bills go up 15% without any lifestyle changes.

I don’t really trust any official figures anymore.

Could Belgiums inflation rate be due to their wage indexing? Why is it so high compared to other western european countries?

    23. Remember if your country says the inflation is 5% please be certain that it’s in fact at least 50%.
