Hey
I do a lot of cycling tours from here in Switzerland, often heading over the borders into neighbouring countries (mainly Liechtenstein, Germany, France, Austria, or Italy).
Every now and then, I run into a breakdown that’s basically impossible to fix on the spot by myself. For example, just yesterday my rear wheel axle completely seized up recently and I just couldn’t get the thru-axle out.
Because of this, I’m thinking about taking out bike travel or breakdown insurance. I ride a Biobike. I bought it 2 years ago for around 2,000 CHF. So not cheap, but not massively expensive either.
Does anyone have experience with bike insurance or similar cover? The TCS one actually reads quite well, but I’m a bit reluctant to support the car lobby (I don’t own a car and will almost certainly stay car-free in the future).
That the bike and also me will get transported back home in case of problems seems quite nice.
