The 17th Annual Delta Arts Festival will return to downtown Newport on Friday (June 5) and Saturday (June 6), bringing together one of the largest celebrations of art, music and culture in Arkansas.
The two-day festival will feature 175 artists and authors along with 30 bands performing across three stages throughout downtown, Executive Director of the Newport Economic Development Commission Jon Chadwell told Talk Business & Politics.
Spanning four blocks of the historic downtown district, the festival will showcase a blend of fine arts, literature, handcrafted works and live entertainment. Artists and authors from more than 50 Arkansas communities and three states will display and sell original works ranging from paintings and pottery to jewelry, woodwork, metal art and custom knives.
The event draws in about 4,000 tourists to Jackson County each year.
Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to meet artists, explore unique handcrafted items, discover one-of-a-kind gifts and enjoy a wide variety of food from talented culinary vendors.
Live music will take place on the Angry Possum Stage, the Postmaster Spirits Stage and the Terry Scoggins Memorial Stage. This year’s lineup is the most diverse in festival history, featuring performances in blues, country, rock, rap, R&B, Americana, bluegrass and more.
Visitors can enjoy live entertainment while dining at Angry Possum, Postmaster Spirits or the festival food court. Admission is free.
