Agree with this campaign. No staff after 1pm isn’t safe for children.

Apparently cutting station staff is “all part of our plan”, to quote Crisafuckwit. What a joke. Mickelturd can’t blame Labor’s dEcAdE oF dEcLiNe for this.

This petition is a joke. These staff are not needed. Waste of taxpayer money

Public transport is for the poors, so cuts cuts cuts. The real builders of the Queensland economy are chauffeured about in luxury vehicles.

On Monday I was waiting for a train and a freight train came by on the track a few minutes before the arrival of the public train, which caused the public train to arrive at a different platform.
There was no station staff to make any announcements so there was a whole platform of people running up and across the overpass to make their train when they saw it pulling up on the other platform without warning.
Feel bad for the people who were really far from the overpass and yeah you really don’t know you need them until you do.

We need more QR staff holding clipboards at Roma Street when a train has broken down to stare at the passengers

This is nuts. I used to use Auchenflower station daily, and as it’s near a hospital you would see fragile looking people coming to and from the hospital all the time, including people going to clinics for treatment. Many times people needed additional help with the ramps or tickets or getting on the right trains because they were unfamiliar with the station. Particularly during the revamp and construction, a lot of things were changing all the time. And trains were constantly changing which platform they came in at, so stationmaster would warn people in advance so they could change platforms in time, which is particularly needed for elderly people who walk a lot slower – stationmaster would see someone waiting on the wrong platform and even come down personally to tell them so they didn’t miss their train. Going to be so many lost and confused elderly people, even more so than there already was due to already understaffed stations.

Thanks OP! Signed. The plan to cut QR staff at train stations is completely absurd and unsafe.

So what’re the odds on the very real concerns being ‘heard’ and used as an excuse to hire a private company connected to the party to perform some of those functions at an insanely inflated cost?

There’s been times especially when I was young and in school where I’d gotten really flustered and not sure where to go like which train and the rail people were really nice and helped me out and got me home safe. We need them and I worry about anyone else in the future who would be in my shoes if they’re not around (especially young girls)
