Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a media appearance after the government meeting, emphasized that luxury resorts, referring to Zvërnec, bring high income to the economy.
He said that one euro that goes into a luxury resort means 2-3 euros going into the economy. Meanwhile, he stopped and took Montenegro as an example, when it comes to tourism.
“I take responsibility for what I say. Luxury resorts are the ones that bring in the economy from tourism and these are numbers and for these, there is no need to listen to me. And today they also have artificial intelligence platforms and ask them.. Why should I accept the construction of a luxury resort? I WILL get the answer that the luxury resort produces income for it too… It is based on facts. One euro that enters a luxury resort is accompanied by 1.6 to 2 euros that enter the local economy of that country. Luxury resorts are not built on the moon… The growth of the entire economic chain also brings increased income for the state and pensions are also paid with them. So just look at Montenegro. Montenegro does not produce rockets, cars, it does not have such a successful sector, but what is the biggest engine of the economy? Tourism. The answer is very simple, luxury resorts… So there is no reason to think that with my own consciousness Albania should get rid of this project…”, he said.
