I wonder how these were decided, probably the most prominent one? Obama’s mother was of English, Welsh, German, Swiss, and Irish descent.
Of course, most people in England have ancestors from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Germany, France, etcetera. And vice versa.

Fun fact: one of the Dutch ones, Martin Van Buren, was also the only US president to not have English as a mothertongue but as second language.
I assume the other two are the both Roosevelts (Franklin and Theodore Roosevelt), but Warren G. Harding also had Dutch heritage – his maternal family was related to the Van Kirk family.

Wasn’t there a president with Estonian ancestry (FDR?) and a few with Nordic ancestry? I swear I remember seeing a map with this premise that had a few more countries on it.
And they’ll say the Irish aren’t discriminate against.
Its interesting that although Obama was African, his ancestry has absolutely nothing to do with that of African-Americans.

There should be like 4 presidents with Irish ancestry. Obama (has distant Irish ancestry, on his mother’s side, he has an ancestry from Offaly, Ireland), Biden, JFK, and Regan.
