Björk has launched a new exhibition, “Echolalia,” at the National Gallery of Iceland in Reykjavík, which opened to the public on Saturday, May 30, per mixmag.net.

The exhibition at Listasafn Íslands comprises three large-scale audiovisual installations. One installation includes material connected to Björk’s forthcoming musical work. A new album is confirmed for 2027 and the exhibition features a version of a new song.

The remaining two installations present written works dedicated to the artist’s mother, Hildur Rúna Hauksdóttir, a homeopath and environmental activist who died in 2018. Tracks “Ancestress” and “Sorrowful Soil” from Björk’s 2022 album Fossora also appear in the exhibition.

In April, Björk clarified that “Echolalia” is the title of the exhibition and an echolalia rave event, not a new album. The rave is scheduled to take place in Iceland this summer during the total eclipse and will feature Arca, Sideproject and Ronja Jóhannsdóttir.

Björk is an Icelandic musician and artist known for integrating music, technology and visual art. The National Gallery of Iceland, Listasafn Íslands, is the country’s main art museum and is located in Reykjavík.
