This week the NYAN One-Way-Effector made its first appearance with UK Forward Land Forces in Estonia on Exercise SPRING STORM.
This capability, rapidly developed to meet emerging threats, brings precision long-range strike to NATO forces deployed on NATO’s eastern flank.
The UK has procured the Callen-Lenz NYAN One-Way-Effector to enhance the Deep Fires Capability and is used alongside the Estonian-manufactured Threod CATA B launcher.
This further strengthens the bonds with Estonian forces as this industrial collaboration delivers proven operational capabilities to the defence of NATO territory.
Currently in use with 26 Regiment Royal Artillery One-Way-Effector Troop, the future sees scaling-up the employment of One-Way-Effectors across the British Army to ensure a battle-winning advantage.
The Ministry of Defence issued a contract award notice for the procurement of the Callen-Lenz Nyan One-Way Effector (OWE), in a move it says will strengthen deep fires capability for UK forces deployed on Operation Cabrit.
The contract was awarded via direct award procedure under the Defence and Security regime.
The deal is valued at £5,995,800 and has been awarded to Callen-Lenz Associates Limited, based in Chilmark, Wiltshire.

FUSILIERS TAKE THE WIN
The Iron Fist Challenge within 20 Brigade proved to be an outstanding event, strengthening teamwork, morale, and camaraderie across the wider Adjutant Generals Corps family through a series of demanding competitions.
The First Fusiliers Detachment emerged as the overall winners among all participating detachments — continuing strong form following the previous competition hosted by QRH on 20 May 2025, where the Fusiliers Detachment placed 1st across all events in the British Army Warrior Fitness competition.
