The School Games Federation of India has selected Deekshit Amin, a basketball player from Mangaluru, for the Indian School Boys (U-18) team, which will participate in the World School Basketball Championship at Xaltibor, Serbia, from June 13 to June 23, 2026.
The championship is organised by the International School Federation. Mr. Amin, the only player selected from Karnataka, represents Mangalore Basketball Club (MBC).
Mr. Amin is a student of Presidency School, Mangaluru, and is coached by Aditya Mahale, head coach, MBC.
He is also the first player from undivided Dakshina Kannada to represent the Indian School Boys (U-18) Basketball team, a release issued by Naveen Shetty, president, Dakshina Kannada District Basketball Association, said.
