Hello from Canada!
I’m asking people in Georgia to please take a moment to read about the case of 22-year-old Canadian Simon Rovensky and consider signing this petition if you believe mercy and compassion should be considered.
According to his family, Simon entered Georgia carrying ADHD medication prescribed by his doctor. The medication was reportedly in its original prescription bottle with his name on it and documentation showing it was prescribed to him.
His family is devastated, and many Canadians are deeply disturbed by the severity of the consequences he is facing.
Whether you agree or disagree with the case, I would be grateful if you could take a moment to read the petition and make your own decision.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Please sign this petition for 22-Year-Old Simon Rovensky

The petition is a noble attempt, but it won’t work. The gov does not care.
Get a good lawyer and start saving up money for the fine.
Most times these cases are dismissed if the “smuggler” pays a fine. It’s a hefty sum too. It’s one of the ways this corrupt government makes money.
And it’s a lesson to always check the local laws before you bring medicine in, prescription or not. He could’ve gotten in the same kind of trouble in many other countries.
It’s really unfortunate, poor kid. He got very unlucky.

Devils advocate here, just how much adderall did he try and bring in, 30-60 tabs would be 1 thing, being the latest person trying to make a quick buck would be an entirely different one.
I signed, but I agree that a good lawyer is needed. I’m a Canadian that’s living in Georgia. Some Georgian guy assaulted me earlier this year, then gave a false statement to the police saying that I assaulted him. I found a city-owned camera pointing to where he assaulted me, and it took the police over two months to pull the footage. Now that I’m pressing charges with evidence, a state prosecutor is trying to fuck with the case.
This country is crazy and the exact opposite of the image they promote. It’s a a literal trap, where the consequences can be jail or harm. I’m one month into a 3 months stay and it will really be a test.. I’ve already posted a lot about bringing these situations to light..
It’s not as if the kid is some drug smuggler.. they know he needs the medication and has a prescription.. I could see some misunderstanding taking place, but to detain him and proceed with the hearing, insane.
He came with his family, as tourists and this is how they’re treated.. just a few days ago while hiking my partner and I were stopped and I was forced to empty the contents of my backpack.. they search foreigners he regularly. The people, extremely unwelcoming and hostile.
What is the Canadian embassy saying?
