Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB highlights rising athlete numbers

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB is set to return on June 12, 2026, welcoming around 3,800 participants to Ordino, a parish in northern Andorra, for one of its most competitive editions to date.

As part of the UTMB World Series, the event in Andorra continues to establish itself as a key race on the international trail running calendar. The international trail circuit was launched in May 2021 through a partnership between UTMB Group and IRONMAN.

The upcoming Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB reflects a strong international field, with runners arriving from multiple nations. France is the leading country for entries, followed by Spain, Andorra, the UK and the Netherlands. Female participation also continues to grow, with women now representing nearly 24% of the total field.

The event serves as a qualifying pathway within the international UTMB World Series circuit. The circuit brings together international trail running events across Asia, Oceania, Europe, Africa and the Americas, providing the only route for runners to secure a place at the UTMB World Series Finals at UTMB Mont-Blanc in France.
The UTMB Mont-Blanc remains a pinnacle event for many ultra runners, attracting 10,000 participants to its start line every year.

The Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB 2026 start line features deep competitive fields across multiple distances, including the Ultra 105K, Trail 80K and Trail 50K. In the Ultra 105K men’s race, Rod Farvard leads the field with a UTMB Index of 918, alongside Thibaut Marguet (874), Richard Lockwood (860) and Philip Ausserhofer (858). The women’s field is led by Martina Valmassoi (758), Anastasia Davydenova (728) and Andrea Vlasakova (723). (The UTMB Index performance score ranges from 0 to 1,000 points.)

The Trail 80K features Julen Calvo (894), Guillaume Tiphene (875) and Morten Andonsen (868) in the men’s line-up, while Allison Baca (772), Juliane Rössler (721) and Lindsay Allison (740) head the women’s field.

The 50K race includes top contenders such as Robert Pkemoi (920), Maximilien Drion (902) and Mario Olmedo Sánchez (889) in the men’s event. The women’s 50K field features Blandine L’Hirondel (807) and Gemma Arenas (750), alongside Anna Ongaro (673), who was the winner of the Salomon Ultra Pirineu in the 2025 season.

The 2026 edition will also welcome a special appearance from Michel Poletti, UTMB Co-Founder. At 71 years old, Poletti is undertaking a personal project called the UTMB Slow Path, which involves travelling between several UTMB World Series events largely on foot to promote a more conscious connection to the landscape.

Throughout race week, Ordino will serve as the central hub for the 3,800 participants, with the race village hosting the expo, bib collection, race briefings and the finish line for all distances.
