Nexon's flagship online game "Crazy Arcade" will end service in August.
Nexon said on the 11th via its official website that it will end Crazy Arcade service on Aug. 13.
The production team said on the official website, "We are truly sorry to bring such sudden news that will cause great disappointment," and added, "We once again sincerely thank all the Crazy Arcade family who have been with us, and we hope the memories we shared for a long time will remain as good recollections."
With the decision to end service, sales of paid items and event operations will also be halted starting today. Instead, as a token of gratitude to users, characters and items that were previously sold for a fee will be provided free of charge until the end of service.
Items purchased with paid Nexon Cash from on Mar. 11 to today are eligible for refunds regardless of whether they were used. Refund applications will be accepted from today through Sept. 16.
Crazy Arcade is a long-running PC online game released in 2001 and the starting point of Nexon's flagship casual game intellectual property (IP), the "Crazy Park" series. However, it is interpreted that service is ending due to factors such as deteriorating profitability from prolonged operations.
Nexon has recently been streamlining the Crazy Park IP. The online game "Bubble Fighter" based on the same IP announced its service termination in April, and in June last year, "KartRider: Drift" also ended service.

Gunbound, Kart Rider, Maplestory, and Crazy Arcade were all childhood staples growing up as a Korean American. Sad to see it go.

That’s insane. I lived abroad as a kid so I never got to play the games, but my mom would always buy the Crazy Arcade / Kart Rider comics for me whenever she made trips to Korea so I’m really nostalgic for the series.
What…. this game defined my childhood, I wouldn’t be myself if I had never played this game, and I would have half the fondest memories with my friends too. Incredibly sad to see it go but I guess everything must come to an end eventually. Thank you for being an amazing game
