The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) recovered to the eight-thousand range on Friday in three sessions after climbing more than four percent on anticipation that the Iran war could end soon.

The KOSPI rose 359-point-67 points, or four-point-63 percent, on Friday to close at eight-thousand-123-point-62.

At one point during trading, program buying was halted on the KOSPI after the index surged more than eight percent.

The gains in the KOSPI were led by net purchases by foreign investors, who bought nearly two-point-two trillion won worth of stocks after having engaged in net selling for the past 24 days.

Wall Street indices all surged overnight after U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that negotiations for a peace agreement with Iran are nearing a final adjustment stage, and that he had canceled strikes and bombings against Iran that were scheduled to be carried out Thursday night.
