On this occasion he is saying what we are all thinking! Half a billion, six grand bung and we have two guys in Rwanda chilling whilst record numbers arrive.
You want to stop dangerous boat crossings, get a massive task force smashing the gangs. Setup a processing centre in France so the only reason to try a boat crossing is because you are trying to hide
You’d have to be pretty idiotic to believe it would ever work.
What he actually said was that the scheme itself is poor, but the effect it would have is as desired. Which anyone with 2 brain cells can see. When it was passed immigrants started fleeing the UK, allowing us to control who enters. Who’d think stopping the undesirable undesirable immigration would be seen as a bad thing?
