The Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Ali El-Ghamrawy, met on Saturday with a delegation of Danish companies specialising in medical devices and supplies to discuss joint co-operation and investment opportunities in the Egyptian market.

During the meeting, El-Ghamrawy reviewed the significant progress achieved across Egypt’s pharmaceutical, medical supplies, and medical devices sectors.

He highlighted the authority’s ongoing efforts to modernise its regulatory and supervisory frameworks in line with international standards.

According to an EDA statement, el-Ghamrawy noted that these regulatory updates are actively improving the domestic investment climate, making the Egyptian market increasingly competitive and attractive to global corporations.

He further emphasised that the EDA prioritises attracting high-quality investments, facilitating technology transfers, and localising manufacturing. This aligns with the state’s broader strategy to position Egypt as a leading regional hub for healthcare manufacturing and innovation.

He added that a continuously evolving regulatory system helps create the stable business environment necessary to sustain growth and foster international partnerships.

For their part, the Danish delegates praised the development of Egypt’s healthcare sector and acknowledged the country’s promising investment opportunities.

They reaffirmed their interest in expanding cooperation with the EDA and exploring partnerships in medical devices and supplies that drive innovation and transfer advanced expertise to the Egyptian market.

The discussions concluded with both sides looking at practical ways to strengthen these ties, leverage Danish expertise in medical innovation, and support the overall development of Egypt’s healthcare ecosystem.
