    1. All the local GAME stores I know are in Sports Directs now. A shame but still don’t wanna see it go.

Absolute 0 chance their denial is real when the stores/sports directs are basically just toy shops now, it’s as clear as daylight.

No reason to buy from Game. You have CEX, Argos, Smyth Toys and often Currys all cheaper and most of those shops are in town centres

    4. Just let it die, both the high street and physical games media are on their deathbed and should be allowed to die with dignity.

    5. GAME died off years ago. This is just an empty husk limping on. I went in a couple of months back and about 80% of the store wasn’t gaming related. This was in a standalone store as well.

We already know they have stopped buying preowned games and are just filtering out the last of their preowned stock. They charge you £5 for click and collect. So not only would you pay RRP you are paying a premium that nobody else is charging. So them saying they’ll stop stocking games unless preordered definitely sounds plausible as another cost cutting measure.

But it’s also weird that they keep hanging on despite the market shifting to online and digital purchases.

Mine doesn’t even sell any physical games anymore.

Gamestation was far better and Game was decent but once Gamestation was shut down? They became shit.

    7. Let it die. Physical games are not needed, in fact many “physical” games just sell an empty game box with a code on a card inside. Flash storage is dirt cheap, and fibre Internet is more widely available that physical games are a waste of money and material. Not to mention the pollution incurred by manufacturing the things. Its an overhead we should be looking to cut out now. It’s a relic of the past anyway.

Game really needs to rethink its strategy rather than a dying industry and “collectibles” that are more like beanie babies than something people would actually want. Why do they insist on filling their store with funky pops when I don’t see anyone buy one?
