Brutal. More workers rights bring stripped away. When we don’t allow unions to strike with the full pain of the strike.. we give all the power to the employer to drag their feet on actually negotiating their contracts.
We are seeing this in the health sector right now. Because we don’t allow healthcare workers to strike unrestrictedly. Essential worker legislation originally was pitched in the same way, to help the economy and citizens to not be as effected.
But it has mostly just allowed the government to ignore what the workers want.
Ok. But then wages must go up in line with the fists of essentials. So that no one working under federal jurisdiction spends more than a third of their income on housing, food, and energy combined.
The liberals are clearly hellbent on not letting housing prices reduce, so the only other option is people need to get paid more. A lot more. Those $70K salaries are no longer enough to live comfortably, and the only way workers are going to get wages substantially increased is by striking for more pay.
