Xpeng hits 6,000-delivery milestone in France as overseas sales set record

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has reached cumulative deliveries of 6,000 vehicles in France, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker said Tuesday.

The 6,000th customer took delivery of an Xpeng P7+ sedan. The owner, Pascal Delelis, is 39 years old and works as a generative AI expert.

Delelis chose the P7+ after an extensive comparison, with its technology, comfort and driving enjoyment meeting all his expectations, Xpeng said on Weibo.

From its first household customer to 6,000 owners in France, Xpeng has won trust through its technological capabilities, the company said.

Xpeng entered the French market in May 2024, initially launching the G9 flagship SUV (sport utility vehicle) and the G6 SUV, a rival to Tesla‘s (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y.

The P7+ has since become a key model in Xpeng’s overseas expansion. The sedan was launched in China on November 7, 2024, after chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng first introduced it to European consumers at the Paris Motor Show in October 2024.

Xpeng launched an updated P7+ in China on January 8 this year and introduced it in Europe the following day, adding an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) option.

The company said at the time that the updated P7+ would be launched in 36 countries and regions. The 2026 P7+ is already being produced at a plant in Graz, Austria.

Overseas markets have become a major growth driver for Xpeng. The company delivered 9,700 vehicles overseas in July, up 223.33% year-on-year and 28.77% from June, marking a monthly record in data compiled by CnEVPost.

Overseas deliveries accounted for 25.51% of Xpeng’s total deliveries in July, the highest proportion on record.

From January through July, Xpeng delivered 41,299 vehicles overseas, up 90.31% year-on-year and accounting for 20.24% of its total deliveries during the period.

However, Xpeng’s overall sales are still recovering from a high base in 2025. The company delivered 38,027 vehicles in July, up 3.57% year-on-year but down 5.23% from June.

From January through July, Xpeng delivered 204,004 vehicles globally, down 12.78% year-on-year.

Xpeng now has more than 1,000 sales outlets worldwide, with an international presence spanning 60 countries and regions.
