The Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce will be offering two training and networking opportunities in the coming weeks to help local businesses grow. Chamber President Donnie Crain says they’re planning to host a lunch and learn on September 24th featuring James Guhl with Arkansas Tech University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center…

“What they do is help small businesses and entrepreneurs who are looking to maybe start a business, and he’s going to be talking to us that day at lunch about some of the things that his center can offer,” Crain said. “I definitely encourage anyone who might be interested in starting a business or maybe they have a business and they’re looking for ways that they might be able to do things better and maybe take advantage of those services to be a part of that lunch and learn that day…’

That event will be the beginning of additional classes and presentations the Chamber plans to offer every other month with the goal of providing practical resources that local businesses can actually use. For individuals looking to start their own business, Crain says an Entrepreneur Networking Event and Pitch Night is scheduled for October 22nd at the Chamber of Commerce…

“If anyone’s ever been to a pitch night, they’re always lots of fun where people maybe have business ideas and they put together a pitch that they share that talks about their idea, and we’ll have a winner get a cash prize to help make their dreams come true,” Crain said. “Anyone who has a small business or looking to start a small business or maybe win some money to start a new business, they need to attend that night, October 22nd, at the Chamber of Commerce…”
