SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC) – A man wanted in connection with the 2022 murder of a Millington teenager has been captured more than 5,000 miles away in Europe.
The U.S. Marshals Service announced Wednesday that 23-year-old Seth Walls was arrested in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Authorities confirmed his identity using fingerprints provided by Interpol. Walls is currently detained in Slovenia awaiting extradition back to Shelby County.

Walls, who was 19 at the time, is accused of fatally shooting 15-year-old Haley Reedy in September 2022 at a home on Clear Creek Drive in Millington. The Shelby County medical examiner ruled Reedy’s death a homicide, concluding that the gunshot entered behind her right ear and exited her left temple at a downward angle, making a self-inflicted wound impossible.

Walls was initially charged with reckless homicide, but a Shelby County Grand Jury later indicted him on charges of second-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. After posting a $10,000 bond, Walls failed to appear for a scheduled court date, prompting a warrant for his arrest.
At the time of his release on bond, Reedy’s family expressed devastation over the judge’s decision to Action News 5.
“Whether he meant to or didn’t mean to, he killed my daughter,” said David Reedy, Haley’s father. “My daughter doesn’t have a second chance. She doesn’t have a phone call or a chance to get bond.”

Law enforcement and local leaders welcomed news of the overseas arrest.
“The arrest of Seth Walls in Slovenia is a powerful example of what can be accomplished when local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies work together,” said Shelby County Sheriff Anthony Buckner. “I commend the U.S. Marshals Service and all our law enforcement partners for their determination and persistence. We will continue working with the District Attorney’s Office to bring Walls back to Shelby County so that he can face the charges against him and allow the judicial process to move forward.”
Millington Mayor Larry Dagen echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the lasting impact on the community.
“The tragic murder of Haley Reedy has deeply affected her family, friends, and the whole Millington community,” Dagen said. “We recognize that no action can undo that loss, but we hope this significant development in the case provides an opportunity for justice to be done and brings the family, and our community, closer to healing.”
