At the UN gathering in New York, Serbia’s president raised a question that could reshape whose voices carry weight in global security decisions.
Serbia supports reforming the United Nations and giving countries broader representation on the Security Council. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said this during his address to the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Vučić called for greater participation on the Security Council by developing countries, particularly African nations, and for more inclusive regional representation. Serbia also supports giving representatives of Eastern Europe an additional seat.
According to Vučić, achieving tangible results will be difficult without returning to the principles of the UN’s work that were agreed upon earlier.
