    1. Ben Parker and Bill Kristol discuss Donald Trump’s increasingly frantic attacks as Republicans face a surprisingly competitive Senate race in South Carolina, including Trump’s use of an anti-trans slur against Democratic candidate Annie Andrews. They examine what the race says about the Republican Party’s standing heading into the midterms and whether Democrats could make gains in traditionally red states.

Plus, Ben and Bill dig into the corruption allegations surrounding Trump’s foreign policy, including his family’s business interests and deals involving Russia, Venezuela and the Middle East. They also discuss the withdrawal of U.S. B-1 bombers from Britain, the broader retreat of American power in Europe, and concerns over a mysterious illness linked to a plague research facility in Russia.

    2. I have lived in South Carolina for 30 years. The fact that the polls say she is in a statistical dead heat with a Democrat should not be possible but even among Republicans so many of them don’t feel that his sister should get the job just because her brother had the seat.

I know a Democrat win is unlikely down here but I will voting for Andrews anyway.

    3. You mean changing one female name out with another that share the same last name wasn’t a winning strategy? No way.

    4. The fact that they thought a nepo pick with no experience was a lock means that they assumed most South Carolina voters will blindly vote for the R no matter what. And in fairness that it’s even close means they’ve not yet been proven wrong.

    5. I may be wrong, but local GOP folks were supporting someone other that her. Then Trump stuck his big nose in and she was the one. Now she may loose SC. So much winning lol.

If she loses after benefiting from sordid nepotism that would be *chef’s kiss*

Girl Lindsay is blowing it? Even name recognition isn’t enough. That would be glorious

    8. A lock to whom. A moron who thinks an ignorant unqualified relative to a shitty senator is a good idea?

I want to know the SC residents that will actually vote blue. I see a lot staying home but we need motivated Republican to vote Dem

    10. I know this will NEVER happen, realistically, but imagine Dems sweeping: AK, GA, IA, KS, ME, MI, MN, NC, NE*, OH, SC, and TX

56 senate seat majority going into 2028, which would theoretically put 60+ within reach.

A Dem trifecta with a 60-seat senate majority could do a hell of a lot (though I know defectors would fuck it up anyways)

    11. A lot of republicans will be writing in alternate names like Ralph Norman. That’ll hopefully take a lot of votes away from the nepo pick who doesn’t deserve the job anyway. Voting for Annie Andrews.

They tried to create a line of succession… the one thing our country was designed to oppose.

    13. Well no one told anyone she is an idiot, even by modern GOP standards. I’ve not seen that kind of dumb in the Senate.

    14. Her performative outrage at Jack Smith was amazingly cringier than her brother’s old shtick.

bulwark, gross. Literally a rag that has the entire purpose of pulling the Democrats to the right btw.

She was such a huge mistake by Trump.

And now she has to stand by and watch Trump disparage Dr. Annie who is immensely qualified as a candidate get publicly called untrue homophobic and misogynistic slurs as though those would make Darline somehow suddenly viable.

Do not vote for Darline. She’s being used -this won’t end well for her.

Even if we don’t win this race, them having to put resources into trying to hold on frees up our ability to beat Republicans elsewhere.
