FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KGO) — One person was killed and six others were wounded in a shooting Friday night at the Solano Town Center in Fairfield.
Three of the victims are in critical condition at local hospitals, Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall said.
Firefighters responded about 8:30 p.m. to the shooting at the Spirit Halloween costume store at Town Center, the largest enclosed shopping mall in Solano County, at 1350 Travis Blvd., near Interstate Highway 80.
Fairfield police said based on a preliminary information obtained during the investigation, the shooting is believed to have started from a targeted incident involving one suspect inside the Spirit Halloween store.
“This is what Fairfield is looking like before Halloween,” said Michelle Marie Anderson of Fairfield, who was dropping off her niece at the mall when she heard a young person call out for help.
“He had apparently been shot and was outside, getting away from the store,” she said. “Everybody was running”
On Saturday afternoon, Fairfield police identified the victim as 31-year-old Constance Hages. Family members tell police she was pregnant at the time of her death. The Solano County Coroner will confirm the family’s information following an examination.
Family members tell ABC7 Eyewitness News, Hages was a mother of four children.
Three additional victims remain in critical condition. Their ages are 16, 19 and 32. All are males.
A fourth victim, a 23-year-old man, remains hospitalized, but in stable condition, police added.
Two additional victims, a 19-year-old male and a 43-year-old male, who were shot, have been released from the hospital, Fairfield police said.
