He could stay to torture English fans or watch his awful football in the next WC.

    2. lol The guys a joke. My main gripe with him is he literally won’t pick Trent because apparently he’s not “defensive” enough to fit in his park the bus system despite him being the best attacking fallback in world football but he’ll pick Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier who have been stinking up the tournament defensively and offer absolutely fuck all going forward.

He’ll wait until he’s fired, then come up with a brilliant reason why he shouldn’t be fired, then when they say they might not fire him he’ll sit in silence until fired anyway

    4. I believe most of the negativity against Southgate is unwarranted as he achieved FAR more than any other England manager in the last 5 decades.

On the specific of the tournament, he was heavily let down by his star players (Kane, Foden, Bellingham) and probably tinkered a bit too much with the line up and module in order to find a way to make them shine. He clearly failed to do so, but was it really his fault?
He still got quite a few substitutions spot-on and gave the team the right mentality (late winners, comebacks and faultless penalty shootout do not happen by chance).

That said, 8 years in charge is a long spell and he should simply step down.

Is every other manager but Spains getting sacked too?

Sure they didn’t win, but they got further than all the other losers.

    6. Let’s face it, nobody likes England and we had the whole European bloc and the other Home Nations cheering against us because we’re a nation of arseholes.

We vote for Brexit, vote consecutive Tory governments into power, give Nigel Farage a 14% vote share and go to every foreign country acting like pissheads who own the place, and we’re surprised nobody cares about the (now 58) “years of hurt” we sing about when It’s Coming Home starts playing. (By the way, fuck that song, it’s overplayed and feels as if David Baddiel put a voodoo curse upon us.)

And nowhere does this show more than us talking about replacing Southgate, despite him having a better track record than any past England manager, all because we’re a bunch of whiny little children who can’t take a loss.
