“The mother of two women who were murdered says she has forgiven their killer, but not two police officers who took photos of their bodies.”
I can’t imagine what this person is going through, but this is bizarre

Its wild that since this murder happened barely anything has been said about the person who actually did it.
She also seems to be trying to position herself as the next Doreen Lawrence…

Nor should she. What a weird thing to criticise her for

Some of the comments here are weird. Of course the police are held to a higher standard than a mentally ill person that committed murder. Of course they should be expected to be respectful of victims and their families. Of course they should be punished for the deplorable things they said and the images they shared so they could have a laugh at the expense of these poor women who were brutally killed while they were just trying to celebrate life. Of course their mother wouldn’t forgive the police for these actions, and she shouldn’t. People implying she is just trying to get a payout are revolting. May you never find yourself in her circumstances.

The cops are white, the killer is non-white. She’s calling for more black police. The whole thing smacks of a race grift.

Still genuinely can’t believe they got actual custodial sentences for this. Prisons rammed, serious criminality including violent crimes receiving suspended sentences, or no custodial sentence at all. But we managed to find some space for macabre pictures and jokes in poor taste? Police officers or no, slightly excessive.
Taking the pictures may have been abhorrent, but is it worse than seriously assaulting someone for example? I’m not so sure.

Stoped reading the article when I noticed she was just trying to promote a book she wrote.

You don’t have too. Hopefully we force them to face this and it won’t happen again.

I never understood the need to forgive. Such a weird thing to say that you forgive the killer. I’m not saying let the hatred consume you but why forgive. Just learn to live with it

I’d forgive the police officers before the murderer myself.

The policemen sending the photos to the press or the mother would be out of order, to colleagues not so much. Whoever grassed to the grieving mother caused this problem. Was she on the whatsapp group?
The next policeman on the scene would’ve taken photos and shared those on a police server, also not committing a crime. These 2 should have been warned for inappropriate behavior not 33 months in prison. If taking a photo of dead people and sharing it was illegal there’d be no war journalism.
