That’s horrible.
I’ve never smashed stone before (apart from the odd plant pot perhaps). It looks like it would have taken quite a bit of work to destroy those gravestones.
Churches all over Europe are being targeted, France has been hit especially bad. A couple of years ago Ecclesiastical who is a specialist insurer for churches, said there were 150 arson attacks over 5 years in the UK.
Wow. That’s just.. pathetic.. I mean, what could motivate it? Boredom? I could probably buy kids smashing the church hall windows because of that, but seems excessive to be smashing gravestones out of boredom, surely that takes a lot of effort compared to chucking a rock.
There’s a gravestone in the churchyard at Idle, Bradford UK. It’s for a soldier who was KIA in Afghanistan whilst serving in the Yorkshire Regiment. It gets kicked over every now and again. Who’s doing it is not a mystery to the locals who are very upset regarding this desecration. Do the demographics.
Glad to see the Reddit Brigade are already on the case, I’m sure they’ll solve it in no time and not at all accurately.
Baldock is a nice looking place populated by not very nice people. Sadly.
