I think it’s time for the Olympics to leave this ‘sport’ in the past
Whats in the video for her to be kicked out right now?
Only abusing her Horse would cause this immediate ejection
A posh person beating a servant or a student wouldn’t raise an eyebrow, but hurting her or someone elses Horse?
Yeah get t’fuck – even though the entire sport is just basic cruelty dressed up as pageantry
Was it animal abuse, mocking minorities or does she hate poor people?
I haven’t read the article and I’m not particularly familiar with who she is. But those who have ‘momentary lapse in judgment that does not represent their character’ are usually the biggest POS.
There was a segment of her on the news yesterday talking about how she’s become Britain’s most decorated female Olympian if she won a medal in Paris. How quickly things can change
Someone must not like her, the footage is four years old and they’ve waited until two weeks before the Olympics..
And abusing an animal, if that’s what it shows, isn’t really an ‘error of judgement’
How can the mail write such a long article and put absolutely fuck all that’s relevant in it?
It was a grave error of judgement to be caught on camera!
Anybody else fins the lack of detail a bit suspicious? Must be serious
She came to my college to perform at the Equine Arena.
Well we have a convicted nonce in these olympics… so this must be very serious if she thinks not competing is the best option. IOC almost certainly won’t care what she did.
We have a convicted child sexual abuser on one country’s team. I’m sure she’ll get to continue to compete as he has been able.
Doesn’t really suprise me in the slightest, people at the top level of competition don’t tend to give a shit about their horses half the time anyway, because often they aren’t theirs in the first place and they’ve got someone to do everything for them. Really is some posh dickhead nonsense.
Riding horses is animal abuse. Everyone knows this. Just rich people throwing enough money at the problem that nobody bats an eye now. Just look at how Disney movies romanticized the abuse
I remember the incident. Here is a story referring to it.

The video from 4 years ago showed her kicking the legs of a horse
Until I hear otherwise, I’m going to assume she was sucking off a line of stableboys.

Telegraph reporting she hit the horse repeatedly on its legs.
>After being hosted on a Dutch website “According to [horses.nl ](https://www.horses.nl/)the complaint was filed with both the FEI and the British Equestrian Federation at ‘9am last Monday’ by Dutch lawyer Stephan Wensing ‘on behalf of a client who wishes to remain anonymous’.
I would hope that the anonymous client and their Dutch lawyer are equally concerned about the Dutch volleyball player Steven van de Velde.
If it’s true and I’d bet it is, she’s a fucking scumbag animal abuser.
Error of judgment my arse she obviously beat and abused her horse
The traditional horse world is rotten with cruelty. Cruel practises passed down and excused away through generations.
And taking your anger out on your horse is common practice. Which sounds like what probably happened here.
But this is a sign that, thankfully, attitudes are now changing.
It was horse abuse. I haven’t seen the video nor do I want to, but I am aware of what she did in it. She’s now been suspended for six months.
Her conduct was disgusting, as is the person who knowingly sat on and suppressed the video, to time the release of it to right before the Olympics.
She has now been [provisionally suspended for 6 months as per her request](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/equestrian/articles/cd16ll5z086o).
According to the [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/olympics/2024/07/23/charlotte-dujardin-out-olympics-paris-2024-team-gb-error/), the video showed her repeatedly hitting the horse’s legs to get it to do a better piaffe (kind of like a really slow trot, [example here](https://youtu.be/MnyPFrTa_XE?t=448&si=MzYgwKa1cV4pdbT4))
The complaint was submitted by the Dutch, days before the Olympics. It didn’t seem to bother them for the past four years.
The timing is not suspicious at all. /s
I read the video shows her whipping a horse’s legs 24x. People are always so sorry when they get caught. Like if I saw a trainer doing that to my horse, it would be over in that instant. Because a person’s temper with a horse is not a one off. I was at this one barn that had a trainer that did stuff to her horse that was so uncool and I would run that up to the Barn ownership, because none of us could stand it and it was so inappropriate. She was kicked out of the barn and she lost many clients once they started paying attention. So I’m gonna think that this is certainly not a one time thing. I’ve been around horses all my life and, I’ve been around some very naughty ones and I can say that I have never done anything excessive. I’m not gonna say I don’t check them when they’re acting bad or getting my space but I’m certainly not gonna do anything that would ever be considered abusive. Also, it says the video is four years old. Four years was not that long ago. I am sure she is not had a miraculous personality change in four years. The accurate description is “somebody filmed me doing something that I didn’t think anybody was watching with a camera.”

Four years is not that long ago, that’s like started the pandemic maybe? So again, if it’s true, it’s not like she’s had some miraculous personality change since then. Since the video isn’t out it’s all speculation. The other thing about this to consider is somebody has been sitting on this for four years, waiting to take her out of the competition. If they were truly concerned about the welfare of animals this would’ve been escalated immediately. So there are some other sinister things here.
Why not rename the post title to what it is. She beat the fuck out of a horse, it wasn’t an “error of judgement”

Beating an animal isn’t an “error of judgement” it is a choice, and one is a horrible person for doing so.
She’s 39? Imagine how many horses she’s abused up to this point.
I can’t believe this is still an Olympic event. At least give the horse the medal.
But a child rapist is competing for the Netherlands. Makes sense.
They should dodge this rich people’s “sport” long ago. If this can be called Olympic sport they should as well put darts, snooker, bowling, football table, binge drinking as Olympic sports

More details now in [the Telegraph article](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/olympics/2024/07/23/charlotte-dujardin-out-olympics-paris-2024-team-gb-error/) (you can use [RemovePaywall](https://www.removepaywall.com/) to get around the paywall).
Key points from the article:
* FEI received video on Monday with a complaint of animal cruelty.
* “Charlotte Dujardin was in the middle of the arena. She said to the student, ‘your horse must lift up the legs more in the canter’. She took the long whip and she was beating the horse more than 24 times in one minute and really hard, really harsh, really tough.”
* Lawyer of whistleblower claims it happened in 2022, not 2020 as Charlotte claimed.
* Whistleblower thought it was normal as she’s an Olympic winner and was warned against speaking out in the UK.
* Having seen others suspended in the UK and elsewhere last year, eventually decided to let lawyer admit complaint to the FEI over the weekend.
* FEI and BEF have provisionally suspended her for 6 months.
* Whistleblower is considering her options about releasing video to the public today (Weds)
Should have raped a child, she’d be fine to compete.
