I hear their new advert will reflect the times.

An ape, sitting serenely listening to Phil Collins.
      Camera slowly pulls back,
then all of a sudden the ape starts throwing his own shit all over the walls.

The Christmas Celebrations tub is to be “scratch and sniff” but will still cost £20

Asda was charging £1.75 for a multipack of 4 ‘smaller than retail’ sized Cadbury bars today.

It was only 3 years ago you could get these for £1.00 so the inflation in that period has been 75%

Yet counter to the cocoa prices excuse you can still get the 180g block for £2.00 which is the same price it’s been for years.

Cadbury have been pushing prices up on multipacks every few months now. They’re clearly trying it on with customers to find their ceiling price.

Their model probably tells them they’ll make more profit shipping less products for 75% more money so that’s what they’re going to do.

    4. >prices rise due to cocoa costing ‘far more’

But there’s hardly any cocoa in it. Now if *vegetable fat* had rocketed in price …..

Try the good choc from Lidl or Aldi and it’s clear Cadbury’s is in the shafting business. Not the chocolate one.

    5. All chocolate will only increase in price. The places that grow it are slowly becoming worse places to grow it. Child Labour is still in abundance though, so there are still savings to be made.

Get used it. The worse climate change gets the less cocoa will be produced. We will need to move to chocolate alternatives or find a way to make the crop more resilient

I don’t buy it anymore. The price is crazy. Lidl has fine alternatives.

    8. I need to cut down on the amount of chocolate I eat, so this will be a good helper.

    9. I don’t care about chocolates costing more – I care about them not tasting like shit.

I used to love a Dairy Milk or a Fruit and Nut. It’s now gloop that I don’t care to eat.

Brits should simply change their behaviour and stop buying them then

    11. Cadbury has always been mass manufactured mediocre chocolate imo. I know it’s well loved here but there really are so many better alternatives.

Just buy some Lindt/Thornton’s/hotel Chocolat when there’s a sale. Not like chocolate goes out of date in a hurry..

Who’s charging far more? The poor cunts that have to pick it?
Don’t companies like Kraft and Nestle own the fucking plantations?

While there is always an element of greed, cocoa prices really have gone through the roof this year (pretty much quadrupled from their long-term average). Only a matter of time before the other producers follow suit. Don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing though with our obesity crisis

I hadn’t eaten dairy milk for a while but recently they’ve been feeling a lot more oily. So the chocolate gets smaller, shittier AND more expensive. Great.
