**Lollapalooza** announced on Monday, July 29th, that all audio, lighting, video, and stage production on the main stage will be powered entirely by a hybrid battery system, making it the first major U.S. music festival to achieve this. Typically, diesel generators are used at large-scale events.
The hybrid-powered stage will utilize over 1.5 MWh of battery storage capacity. These reusable batteries, charged by biodiesel generators, will be deployed by **CES Power** and manufactured by **Atlas Copco**.
Where is the benefit here? You still have to transport the battery storage to the location, so what benefits do you get from using this solution over just the biodiesel generators.
this just seems so dumb to me, but a headline is a headline i guess.
