Saudi Arabia has revealed the 11 soccer stadiums it plans to build as part of its bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup — and one of them looks like it came out of a video game.
The Neom Stadium would be located within the country’s dystopian smart city at more than 350 meters (383 yards) above the ground.
The Line itself is such an idiotic concept only a child would think of. And now this? What is Saudi doing with all their money?
Everything I read about “the line” is how it is behind schedule and over budget despite scaling back the initial vision of the project. We are talking over a trillion dollars dumped into this thing and I struggle to see it be the success they envision. Until it is done simply feels like render fantasy like some of those super tall skyscrapers that make the Burj Khalifa seem reasonable.
Swimming against the current here, I think this is a good idea. Even Neom. Its effectively building density, incidentally being environmentally efficient use of space and building materials.

The Saudis have really stepped up their CGI concept art game lately. They might be at the top of the world at how fast they are able to produce cartoons of things that don’t exist.
Their country is so rich and their leaders so dumb that it makes it so they fall for every “futuristic rendering project” type scam in the book.

After seeing the concept of “The Line” I am pretty sure the Saudis will be the cultural spearhead of cyberpunk dystopia.
