Southport latest: Tempers flare as crowds standoff in Leeds while protesters ordered to leave Manchester and Blackpool

This is ludicrous.

These people are effectively trying to launch a pogrom, attacking houses of worship of people they don’t like after misattributing a horrible crime to them. This is no different than 12th century peasants working themselves into a psychotic lather based on anti-Semitic rumors and then falling upon their local innocent Jewish community.

The country should be in lockdown. These “protestors” are halfway through their own personal Kristallnacht and need to be stopped.

EDIT: I’m impressed at those of you who correctly attributed this post to a redditor and downvoted it, rather than misattributing it to a Muslim asylum seeker and racing out of the house to burn down a Mosque or something. It’s like you’re learning!

EDIT 2: I like how the biggest objection any of you can muster is to the idea that there should be some kind of lockdown or civil disorder emergency as a result of this. Fair enough. Very few people, however, are bothering to try and refute my actual point: that this is an ongoing attempt at a pogrom in several cities, and categorically different and more severe than less-targeted hooliganism.

It is apparently business as usual for white British mobs to march down the road and burn down the local minority’s house of worship after they’ve falsely accused them of a heinous crime. How dare I suggest that we treat the situation otherwise, as *that* would be truly extreme.

So theres now clips on Twitter of mobs of young men of a certain demographic marching through Blackburn and Stoke fully armed with hammers and knives and the police just letting them get on with it

You know what’s sad, it’s probably the last beautiful hot weekend of the summer and people are scared of going out to the city and having a nice day as these people are causing riots in the name of hate to fear munger
